Rise of the Resistance & the Return of the Mockingjay: Hunger Games
Following the events of the 75th anniversary of the Hunger Games, the 3rd quarter quell, the second revolution is on the horizon. Every quarterquel is a special game and with the advent of the games’ 75th anniversary, President Snow has announced that this year's tributes would be picked from a pool of previous victors, despite the promise of victors forever living in comfort. Needless to say, this has caused quite the uproar, and the people of Panem are at unrest.
However, an interesting update has come in the reemergence of 13th district just before the games. Previously thought to have been destroyed after staging a revolution against the capital, the 13th district had actually been thriving underground, returning under the leadership of Alma Coin. The revolutionaries pulled out many of the tributes from the games who are now at large, including Finnick Odiar, Beetee Latier, and Katniss Everdeen.
The Capitol knows about everyone in District 13, and with the distribution of Katniss’ proposal (propaganda videos) the districts have all gone to war with one another and the Capitol. Johanna, Peeta, Annie, and Cinna, who we discover is in fact alive, but was held captive by the Capitol to learn the Rebellion's plans, are all in the Capitol awaiting rescue. In light of the new revolution, Katniss Everdeen has become the rebellion's mockingjay. Unsurprisingly, this news leaves President Snow and the rest of the loyalist Capitol less than happy. With the imminent threat of war, but a chance for a newer, better nation, the citizens within district 13 and elsewhere must take a stand in order to prevail over the corrupt Capitol. Panaem, you will have to struggle and fight to bring about a better future or succumb to the evils of the capital once again. May the odds be ever in your favor.
